Dr Imraan Jhetam qualified as a medical doctor at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine of the University of Natal in 1996. After completing his internship, he worked as a registrar of Internal Medicine at King Edward VIII hospital in Durban. He then spent time gaining experience as a specialist medicine registrar in the United Kingdom.

He returned to South Africa to commence post graduate training in Dermatology and was awarded Fellow of the College of Dermatologists of South Africa in 2005. He then was appointed Head of Department of Dermatology at Grey’s Hospital Pietermaritzburg where he upgraded the Dermatology clinic to provide Specialised Regional Dermatology services to Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands area.

Dr Jhetam commenced private practice in late 2005 initially on a part-time basis and then full time in 2008. Dr Jhetam has not only attended but presented at numerous local and international congresses in United States, Europe & Asia. He has published numerous articles in Medical Journals and has been invited to comment in publications like Longevity magazine & Click’s magazine.

He is a regular contributor of cutting edge Dermatology articles in the Medical Chronicle. Dr Jhetam is a member of the Dermatology Society of South Africa & Health Professions council of South Africa. He is the past chairman of the Dermatology Independent Practitioners association of KZN He is also a founder member of the South African Society of Dermatologic Surgery where he served on the executive committee as Treasurer.

Dr Jhetam has many years experience in Medical and paediatric dermatology. He has attended numerous surgical training courses and is proficient in cancer surgery and other minor surgical procedures. He is an experienced injector of Botox & Fillers and has gained reputation in all aspects of Aesthetic medicine.
